| hen Western horsemen ride a Don, a Budenny, an Akhal-Teke, a Kabardin or another Russian horse
they feel the difference: the horse has natural movements and natural instincts, it is
willing and tough. It is not a show jumping or eventing machine. It is a fighter.
But more often than not foreigners know nothing about the
richness of Russian breeds, Russia's centuries-old equine history and traditions,
Russian breeding practices, and so on. They have a way of lumping all the horses coming
from Russia under the generic name of The Russian
Horse.
Troika
We thought that everybody
would benefit from a Center that would be an adequate gateway to the Russian horse
industry. And so we have established one. We dubbed it Troika, because the troika has
become a symbol of Russia, because the word has entered many European languages, and...
well, because we just like it.
Founders
The founders are a group
of Russian companies and individuals representing a broad spectrum of marketing &
advertising skills, computer & Web-capabilities, design talents, and so forth.
Among the founders are:
SokOros - a company with years of experience in horse trading. It has a
large equestrian base in Moscow with 130 horses of various Russian breeds and modern
equestrian facilities; two horse studs -- one Arabian stud in the arid Kuban steppe and a
Trakhener stud 100 km away from Moscow. SokOros has supplied hundreds of horses to various
countries in the world by various means of transportation.
Mekka
Advertising - Web-masters, a marketing
& advertising agency with Russian and international clientele, rich experience with
the horse industry.
Among the consultants are:
Professor Oleg Balakshin of Moscow Agricultural Academy;
Doctor Elena Petushkova, President of Russian Equestrian Federation
Purpose
The main purpose of the
Center is commercial. We offer for sale dozens or even hundreds of Russian horses of
various breeds and render marketing and other services.
But we are not a dollar-crazy lot. We would also like to tell the
world about The Russian Horse, and we would like to be a real gateway to Russia's horse
world. In this we will rely on our Web-site.
Web-site
The informational core of
the Center is our Web-site. The task of the site is to sell and entertain, to educate and
inform. We want the site to be an exciting place even for the browser, a place to spend
hours learning about The Russian Horse.
We are well aware of the fact that the Internet surfer pays to
his Internet provider for the time spent on our site, therefore we have tried to make it
as easily loadable and readable as possible. Where possible we try to do without useless
graphic flourishes, which take ages to download, and mile-long lines, which make texts
unreadable.
We aim to please!
Site structure
The site will grow into a
fairly large tree with many boughs, branches, and twigs. To be sure, the growing is going
to take much time, effort, and... money.
The structure of the site will become more and more sophisticated
and diversified. In expanding the site we will be guided by our plan and your feedbacks.
That is to say the priority of our presenting this or that breed, this or that issue will
depend on your inquiries.
After all, the site is meant for you, our friends throughout the world!
The language
Our site is in English. We
will then produce its Russian version.
Feedback
As we said, the site is
meant for you. Therefore, it is vitally important for us to have your feedbacks. We invite
any comments and enquiries. You may use e-mail or the guestbook.
We are going to include a conference section.
You are welcome!
